前锋村原属下堡镇，2004年起归水口镇，属镇乡结合区。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

此地建国前称下堡，新中国成立后，因位于政府机关的前面，改叫前锋。[1]1961年称前锋大队，为前锋乡（1983年），称村委会（1987年），称管理区（1993年），又称前锋村委会（1999年）。下堡镇撤销（2004年11月），前锋村改归水口镇。[1]
