名称与沿革[edit]

该村名字来自过去队部所在的位置：水口圩的东面。[1]新中国成立后到1958年，它与邻近的英勤同在一个行政单位；设水东大队（1958年），为水东乡（1984年），为管理区（1989年），成立水东村委会（1999年）。[1]

荣誉[edit]

水东村属首批广东省卫生村，于2017年10月由省爱国卫生运动委员会授牌；到2026年3月，又被认定为第三批广东省「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
