莲塘村位于广东省茂名市高州市长坡镇，属镇下辖的村民委员会[1]。村中有一口大池塘，塘里种莲藕，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据地名志类资料，1958年公社化时划入上游公社；1960年上游公社解散，莲塘区拆为九个大队（莲塘为其一），隶西坑公社；1963年随西坑公社一道划归长坡公社时，莲塘大队与利山大队合并。1983年起称乡，1986年称农村管理区，1999年后为村民委员会。[1]

  • 2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]
  • 2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」[1]
