新围村在行政区划上属从化区鳌头镇，是该镇的一个行政村，村委会设在镇域北部。[1] 全村面积约6平方公里，村民小组共23个，村委会介绍的总人口为2350人（该介绍未注明年份）。村距从化城区约18公里，距鳌头镇中心镇区约14公里。[1]

新围村的猫头狮舞列入省级非物质文化遗产。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1958年建立新围大队，到1983年12月改设为新围乡，到1987年1月改名新围村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2021年11月，新围村获评「2020年度“广州名村”」荣誉称号。[1]
  • 2024年11月，新围村被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

村集体经济方面，村集体增收靠引进的广州佳益酒店用品有限公司项目。[1]

文化[edit]

新围村的传统习俗有猫头狮舞。猫头狮是民间遗存的一种少见的狮舞，宗族礼仪、神庙祭祀、拜年贺寿时由人戴面具表演，伴以锣鼓和唢呐，用以驱邪祈福。该村的猫头狮舞属传统舞蹈类，2011年6月进入广州市第二批非物质文化遗产名录，到2015年升格为省级非物质文化遗产。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的七姓祠、新一队李氏民居群、中华里队李氏宗祠，共3处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[3]
