据博雅地名网，汾水村建于1727年；1958年建立汾水大队，1983年12月归入大氹，改设大氹乡；1987年1月分出后，改名汾水村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。^[1]

村里的农业格局为：水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘里养四大家鱼、塘基上养瘦肉型猪。^[1] 村集体经济方面，村集体增收靠引进的嘉盛养殖场项目和兰花基地两个项目。^[1]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的国雄家塾，共1处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。^[2]
