历史沿革[edit]
古时称村为“围”，相对于老围而有此名。[1]
新围村的集体组织始于1956年成立的新围高级农业生产合作社。两年后实行人民公社化，村隶属中新公社，当时的生产大队叫新围大队；1959年福和从中新公社划出，村随之改属福和公社。1983年公社改区，大队改称乡，1987年撤乡设村、成立村民委员会，仍归福和镇管辖，2004年福和镇并入中新镇后改属中新镇。[1]
经济与设施[edit]
村里有2000亩冰糖桔种植基地，社道已修成7.2公里，并以大田围作为新农村试点；村设篮球场、文化室和活动中心。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 广东省卫生村（2017年10月由省爱卫会授予，属第一批）。[1]
