历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1958年建立下西大队，到1983年12月改设为下西乡，到1987年1月改设为下西村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。^[1]

村里的农业格局为：水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘里养四大家鱼、塘基上养瘦肉型猪。^[1] 村集体经济方面，村集体增收靠引进的春盛科技发展有限公司项目。^[1]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的白围门楼、李氏宗祠，共2处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。^[2]
