莲塘村是望埠镇下辖的行政村，位于镇北面，距镇区约3公里，距英德市区约17公里。[1]

村委会管着25个自然村，共738户、3077人，总面积约25平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国前，邓姓人家迁来定居。山岗东西两侧各有一口鱼塘，塘中种藕，故称连塘岗，后改称连塘，今作莲塘。[1]

建国后曾称大队和乡，1986年恢复村委会建制，同年分出杨柳坡村委会；2004年11月，杨柳坡村委会撤销，并入本村。[1]

村中人口超过300人的自然村有3个。党员76人，党支部8个，村干部5人。[1]

经济[edit]

2021年9月，莲塘村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的一村一品专业村名单，主产桑椹。[1]

文化[edit]

2026年1月，莲塘村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予莲塘村「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
