英德市人民政府网刊登的镇街动态（2026年10月13日）记述，望埠镇党委副书记曾到望埠社区与辖区企业座谈营商环境，并走访慰问困难群众和退役军人。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
这里古称望夫归，后又称望夫冈。清初年间，各地来的商贩在此经营，买卖兴旺，一度被叫作旺埠；因客家话里「夫」与「埠」读音相近，才渐渐写成望埠。[1][2]
人口民族[edit]
社区总人口11103人，设支部委员5人，有党员116名。[1]
文化[edit]
2020年12月，望埠社区列入2020年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2019年9月，又列入2018年同类名单。[1]
