莲塘村是广东省河源市龙川县老隆镇辖下的行政村，据博雅地名网，村中土地肥沃，家家门前有鱼塘，塘塘相连，故名。读书坝、群辉、幸福三村于2004年并入。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

在解放前叫乡，1958年由老隆公社管辖，1961年归水贝公社，1964年另立水贝大队。[1]1983年改称乡，1987年起设村民委员会，1989年称管理区，到1999年再设村委会。[1]2004年，龙川县人民政府批准读书坝、群辉、幸福三个村委会并入莲塘村。[1]

2024年3月，莲塘村获「2023年广东省卫生村」之名；2019年9月，名列「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

读书坝的余进文家楼上，是龙川重建党组织后第一次党员代表会议的地点。1939年2月24日，李健行主持会议，12名党员代表出席，选出以黄慈宽为书记的县委，并宣布成立老隆、鹤市、龙母三个区委。[2]会址如今称龙川重建党后的第一次全县党代会旧址。[2]
