东风社区属广东省佛山市顺德区容桂街道，北临德胜河南岸，南达容奇大道中，东到凤祥北路，占地0.6平方千米[1][2]。新中国成立初期名圩头区，曾是容奇镇的交通、政治、经济和文化中心[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

从清末到新中国成立之初，这里叫圩头。1951年设圩头区，1966年改东风街道，次年又成立东风区革命委员会；1987年依容奇镇的统一规划改作东风管理区，1990年称东风街道办事处，2002年2月经顺德市政府批准改设东风社区居民委员会[1]。

村情称，1994年佛山市政府审核后，认定这里为解放战争时期的游击根据地[2]。

地名由来[edit]

《广东省顺德市地名志》说，“东风”取“东风压倒西风”的寓意[3]。

社区概况[edit]

居民约2600户、近万人，分新风、旧马路、新兴、围坣、东炮楼、新街6个居民小组；党总支有党员300名[2]。
