东光村属广东省高州市大井镇，是镇下辖的行政村，设立于1960年代初，原属南塘公社。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网所记，村名取“东方的光明照亮该村”之意。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
原属南塘公社。1961年公社体制下放，原有申坑、白村、东光三个大队，到1963年，申坑并入东光，成东光大队。1983年建乡，1986年改称农村管理区，1999年起设村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，东光村获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
