东风村位于炭步镇区西面，面积约2.24平方千米，下辖汤边、旺边、坳西、坳东4个村民小组，花都大道是村对外的主要通道。^[1]约五百年前建村，村名来自1950年代末的「东风大队」。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名并非古名：1950年代末取当时流行的革命名称，叫东风大队，后改称东风村。1987年设村委会，隶属炭步区公所。^[1]

村民种稻、种菜、种花并养鱼，工业企业三十多家，涉及电线电缆、生铁铸造、机械和五金加工。2023年5月获2022年广东省卫生村称号，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。^[1]

搜狐号文章提到旅港商人黄苏，曾任花县海外联谊会会长，多次捐资家乡的交通和医疗事业。^[2]
