历史沿革[edit]
民国时属容奇镇，新中国成立后归桂洲区，立容里乡；1958年有东区、中南两个大队，1962年并为东区大队，1966年更名东风大队；1983年称容里乡，1987年称容里村，1989年为容里管理区；1998年设村委会，2001年改居委会[1]。
地名由来[edit]
清代因处在容奇以东，叫容奇东里，又称东社，1950年之后简称容里[3]。
树生桥[edit]
树生桥又称鹏涌桥，跨鹏涌而过，由三棵榕树的气根引导生长成桥，形成于明代隆庆至万历年间，长约6米，宽2至3米。最初这里是木桥，屡坏屡修，村民便引榕树气根作桥身。桥上嵌有清乾隆己未（1739年）重修的石匾；2011年11月18日，桥被公布为顺德区不可移动文物，树生桥公园是「容桂十景」之一[4]。
人口与经济[edit]
村情说，社区常住8936人，外来人口15000多；工业区共2200多亩，聚集工商企业400多家，2008年工商业总产值超20亿元；曾获「广东省“六好”平安社区」「广东省卫生村」称号[2]。
