历史沿革[edit]
1952年有扁滘乡，1953年并入容边，属新地乡；1959年分出，立扁滘大队；1983年称乡，1987年称村，1989年设扁滘管理区；1998年撤区设村委会，2001年改居委会[1]。
地名由来[edit]
地名资料说，这里本是偏僻荒凉、人口稀少的小村，常被外人欺负，于是依靠隔河的中山大村相呼应以求庇护，名字取自谦的“扁小”之意（原文写作“扁沿”）[3]。
人口与经济[edit]
村情说，社区有居民500多户，共2143人，面积2平方千米；辖内有兴华、碧桂两个工业区，企业100多家，商铺200多间；2007年得「顺德区计划生育先进村」称号[2]。
