平坡村是石颈镇西部的行政村，离镇政府约4公里，辖8条自然村，办事处设在新坡村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
起初是1963年的平坡大队，其后依次改作平坡乡（1983年）、村委会（1986年）、管理区（1989年），1998年重新称村委会。村名取自村民居住在宽阔平整的坡地上。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村内人口3325人，耕地1276亩。岭背垌村是镇上典型的少数民族村，有壮、侗、布依三个民族的21户家庭。[1]
经济[edit]
村在长青水库下游、白坭河旁，种有红烟，近年发展红橙等水果，荒山已基本种上果树。[1]
2019年9月，该村榜上有名，入选「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
