水口村位于炭步镇区西面，面积约3.86平方千米，下辖9个村民小组，东北侧的巴江河是连通北江与广州中心城区的航道之一。[1]村内的康公庙是花都现存年代较久的庙宇之一，水口一带的元宵灯会已列入广州市市级非物质文化遗产名录。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

水口村始建于明朝永乐初年。村名据族谱所记，是对村落形胜的概括：左有巴江环带，右有大湖，前临江水，后倚中山，故称「风水口」，简作水口。[1]1987年设钟边、水口两个村委会，1992年钟边并入水口村。[1]

文化[edit]

搜狐号文章称，水口任姓是花县任姓之源；元宵投灯历史悠久，当天长者在庙前聚餐，称「千岁宴」。以水口村为代表的花都元宵灯会2009年入选广州市第二批市级非物质文化遗产项目。[2]

经济[edit]

村内以水稻、蔬菜、花卉种植和鱼塘养殖为主，另有石灰、五金加工、塑料制造等工业企业十余家。[1]2026年1月，水口村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
