大坳村在炭步镇东南，东面是白云区，南面是南海区，面积约2.48平方千米，下辖7个村民小组。^[1]村建在白虎岭与牛头岭之间的山坳里，约五百年前立村。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1987年设上社、前社两个村委会，1992年撤销，合并为大坳村。^[1]

有陆仕公路通镇区。农业以水稻、蔬菜、花卉和鱼塘养殖为主，台资水产企业是广州市农业龙头企业，工业以橡塑制造为主。2025年6月被认定为「2024年度广州市级美丽乡村」。^[1]

搜狐号文章说，村里有秋祭分鱼的习俗，龙锦伦以父亲之名捐建了裕祥文化楼，龙氏族人中有人撰写族谱和诗文。^[2]
