莲塘社区是广东省深圳市罗湖区莲塘街道的中心社区，四周被莲塘路、聚宝路、国威路和畔山路围合，面积1.2平方千米。[1]社区驻地就是旧莲塘村所在，街道也因此村得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，莲塘一名可追溯到约300年前的客家村落，村前池塘遍生莲藕，村子因而叫莲塘村。[2]2002年设立莲塘社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]

人口[edit]

村民自建的楼房有385栋，出租屋约1.2万套；总人口约2.9万，其中户籍约5000人、暂住约2.4万人（该页未注明年份）。[1]

经济[edit]

辖区兼有城中村、花园小区和商贸企业，住宅小区包括金色年华、天越翔园、莲馨园等，另有岁宝百货、南康百货两家大型商贸企业。[1]2022年3月，社区被深圳市住房和建设局认定为第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
