大坪村在南雄市水口镇境内，位于水口镇中部，属革命老区村[1]。下辖7个自然村，分为7个村民小组，共320户、1252人；耕地1530亩，另有林地1326亩。主要作物为黄烟、水稻、花生。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名由来：因此地地势平坦开阔，“平”谐音“坪”，故称大坪。[2]

1949年设河坪农会，1954年组成河坪初级社，1956年升格为高级社；1963年河村、大坪和张河坝片并为河坪大队；1983年从中分出，称大坪乡，1988年称大坪管理区，撤销管理区、设立大坪村委会，一直延续至今。[1]

近年的称号与名单：

  • 2026年1月评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
  • 2023年度广东省卫生村（2024年3月命名）。[1]
  • 2020年8月公布的首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村中，以蔬菜入选。[1]
