历史沿革[edit]

莲塘村的建置沿革是：1958年为莲塘大队，1983年改设莲塘乡，1987年成立莲塘村委会，1989年称管理区，1998年又恢复村委会，此后一直沿用[1]。

荣誉与近年建设[edit]

  • 2026年3月，莲塘村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇[1]
  • 2019年9月，莲塘村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]
  • 莲塘设有乐昌峡水利枢纽工程铁路移民的安置点，2025年计划整治提升[2]
