莲塘村是广州市花都区新华街道辖下的行政村。花都区赤坭镇也有一个莲塘村，为了区分，这里的莲塘村又称东莲塘，赤坭的称西莲塘。广州地铁9号线的莲塘站即以该村命名，站点在新华街道境内。[1][2]

著名人物[edit]

曾振强在马来西亚新山广肇会馆任会长长达36年，常回乡出资，用于重建祠堂、修筑村道和设立教学基金；曾维炳先后做过花都的首任市长和广东省旅游局副局长。[1]
