东风社区在东海街道东侧，西起迎仙桥，南至龙山桥一带的南堤路，含大街、马街和零公里一带，面积约1.2平方千米[1]。社区有金龙、华光、湖山、红围4个居民小组；陆丰市政府网站记户籍人口31206人，博雅地名网另记总人口9513人，两处相差悬殊[1][2]。

革命遗址[edit]

政府网站列出社区辖区内六处革命遗址：陆丰县动工团遗址在社区居委会内；陆丰县抗战剧团成立遗址在龙山中学礼堂；该校内另有“五四运动时期”的陆丰学生代表大会旧址、张威纪念亭，以及陆丰县苏维埃政府的成立庆祝大会旧址；陆丰革命烈士陵园在龙山顶[1]。辖区内的学校有中心小学、东华学校和龙山中学[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后先设东平居民区。1965年“四清”工作队将其分为东升、东风两个居民区，1969年合并为东风革委会，1976年后改称东风居民区、东风办事处；1987年4月起称东风居委会，1994年为居民管理区，1999年又恢复居委会名称，2002年起为东风社区居民委员会[2]。2019年9月，社区入选广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单（2018年度）[2]。
