红星村在东海街道北侧，深汕高速公路和广汕公路从村北经过，辖龙水堂、油槎、连厝围、新厝、六社5个村民小组，户籍人口14322人，辖区面积4.5平方千米[1]。辖区内有机关、学校、车站、企业和集贸市场，是街道里较热闹的一片[1]。
历史与经济[edit]
博雅地名网称红星村1999年命名[2]。该网站的另一页写到，村为城中村，原有7个村小组，1876户12865人，耕地832亩，以种菜为主，村集体每年有约25万元的门市租金收入[3]。2017年4月，原属红星村的上龙潭、下龙潭两个村民小组划出，另设龙潭村，所以现在只有5个小组[4]。
