红光村在东海街道的附城一带，离街道办事处约1公里，东面是金龙社区，北面是南堤社区，南面是神冲村，西面是龙光村，面积约2平方千米，常住人口13180人[1]。辖7个自然村、9个村民小组：寨仔、桥东、卢厝、竹围、桥西第一、桥西第二、金保第一、金保第二和荣尾[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
博雅地名网记载：红光生产大队设于1978年，8年后改称农村管理区，1987年4月为村委会，1994年又成管理区。该页末句写作1999年“改为炎龙村村民委员会”，应是误抄炎龙村的沿革[2]。
名胜古迹与现状[edit]
村内的通德里古村落是陆丰市文物保护单位[3]。辖区内有红光小学和陆丰市绵德学校，建有金碧豪庭、金钗华府等小区[1]。红光村列入广东省「乡村治理示范村」创建名单（2021年度），广东省乡村振兴局于2022年1月确定[2]。早年的介绍称村域面积约18平方千米、总人口8024人，与现在政府网站所记差别很大[2]。
