地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，村名取蒸蒸日上、不断进步之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

上村最初在横沥区；1956年8月区改为乡，它编入水口乡的上霞乡；公社化后是水口公社的上村大队，1984年大队一分为二，成上村与樟桥。1987年乡改镇；1990年为管理区，1993年又回到村委会；2003年水口镇改办事处，村随之归办事处管辖。村里的叶姓、吴姓，据博雅地名网说是1972年修建新丰江水库时，从龙川的枫树坝迁来定居。[1]
