姚村位于惠州市惠城区，由水口街道管辖，是一个行政村[1]。
地名由来[edit]
村中居民多姓姚，故称姚村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国初期，姚村属平潭区；1956年8月区改为乡，隶水口乡五和大队；1958年为水口公社五和大队下的姚村。1980年，五和大队分出姚村和陂头，到1983年二者合并为五和乡。公社在1984年5月改乡，同年8月乡又改镇；1986年姚村与三联各设村委会；1990年称管理区，1993年改回村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
姚村在2020年12月入选当年的广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年2月，司法部和民政部公布它属「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
