新民村位于惠州市惠城区，由水口街道管辖，是一个行政村[1]。
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，土地改革使农民翻身做主人，村名为纪念这一变化而取。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年土地改革结束后，惠阳县设新民乡政府。1962年马安甘蔗农场撤销，改设蓬陵、水口、洛塘、河南岸四个公社，新民归洛塘公社；1964年合并公社时，5个单位合成新民大队管委处，隶水口公社。之后1983年为新民乡人民政府，1987年为管理区，1999年起设村委会。[1]
