历史沿革[edit]
解放前，上村、中村、五里亭合称古田；上村的位置偏上，故名上村。[1]
1949年设上村乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设上村大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社），1960年改属新设的城北人民公社。「文化大革命」初期，上村分出新田村。1983年称上村乡；1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡；1989年称上村管理区；1998年定名为上村村民委员会，隶属城北镇。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有453户、1657人，总面积5.02平方公里，耕地951亩，种水稻和沙田柚；所记上一年农村经济总收入1402万元（年份未注明）。[1]
上村近年多次获省级荣誉：2019年9月列入「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2018年度），2023年4月进入乡村治理示范村创建单位名单（2022年度），2024年1月被确定为民主法治示范村（社区）（2023年度），同年4月又入选首批省乡村振兴示范村创建名单。[1]
