下源村位于惠州市惠城区，由水口街道管辖，是一个行政村[1]。
地名由来[edit]
本地分上源塘、下源塘两处，此村在下方，故名下源。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年，惠阳县设水口农会；次年设水口乡主席会；1954年设水新乡，下源与张村同在其内，当年底乡改区，归二十三区。1956年8月区复改乡，称水口乡的下源乡；1958年为水口公社下源大队。1987年乡改镇，下源村属水口镇；1990年称管理区，1993年起设村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
国家卫生健康委老龄司2021年8月公布的「全国示范性老年友好型社区」中有下源村；2023年4月，它又是2022年度广东省「乡村治理示范村」创建单位；同年11月，进入广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1]
村情[edit]
博雅地名网称，村在街道中部，紧邻东江，古称源塘，建村可追溯到明代万历初年，现为五六千名严姓族人聚居地，有300多年历史的古民居[1]。
