历史沿革[edit]
据《广东省顺德市地名志》，建村时间不详。村在陈村之南，旁有河涌，故称南涌。[3]建制上，1952年设乡，1958年改作大队，1983年又改回乡，1987年起叫村，1990年成为管理区，其办事处1993年迁往官当村，名称不变。博雅地名网的沿革写作2003年设居委会，社区自述为2002年9月成立，两说不同。[1][2]
社区概况[edit]
社区处105国道与白陈路交会处，下分民族路东、民族路西、上下村3个居民小组，常住2603户、7792人，外来人口超过一万三千。[2]辖区设有陈村医院、南涌小学和两处公园。[2]2015年3月，司法部、民政部将其列入「第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
