新丰与新沙原是同一片围垦田地上的两处居民点，约在15世纪中叶由外海陈姓族人置地、雇农耕作而来，两处后来一并归入新沙的名下，直到2020年才重新分设。[1]

地名由来[edit]

寄望风调雨顺、年年丰收，故名新丰。[2]
