历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历，据博雅地名网所载：旧时村里有一处河口，林木密布、枝蔓交织，堵塞河道，称为“淹水”，后改写成燕水。[1]
民国时期，这一带归大胜乡管辖；1952年与古泮同设燕水乡，1956年分出燕水一社，1958年归入高级社。生产大队设于1959年冬，1983年起为乡人民政府，1989年设村民委员会和管理区办事处，1999年的村民委员会名称沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村里主要种植水稻、玉米、马铃薯、蕃薯、木薯；特色收入来源有种植烟草，并已形成烟草产业基地[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2023年5月，广东省爱卫会将燕水村列入「2022年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，燕水村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
