西园社区是东里镇镇区的社区之一，居民委员会设在镇中心地段。社区名取自区内的西园街。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是东陇镇的居民管理区（民国时期此地归东陇镇，管理区设于1950年）。1965年管理区一分为三，西园一带成了排第一的居民办事处；1969年三处并作东陇居民办事处，1974年底又分开，这时已归东里镇管。进入八十年代，它先改称第一办事处（1984年），随后有了西园居委会（1986年11月）和西园管理区（1998年9月），2002年2月定名西园社区居民委员会。[2]
