南畔洲村简称南洲，是东里镇下辖的行政村，在镇的南端，南临义丰河，由韩江下游三条河流的泥沙冲积成洲。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清初闽南一带的渔民迁来，从事渔耕，康熙二十年（1681年）渐成村落。1950年，南畔洲与石丁、大围、明德、南砂合为新联乡；1961年起，南洲、明德、大围、石丁四村合为南洲生产大队，1971年9月又分为四个大队。1998年9月设南畔洲村。^[3]

村情介绍称，全村700户、2816人，土地2760亩，耕地1512.30亩（经济数字为2007年）；村民以蚁、姚、谢、陈等姓为主。农业以水稻、花生、蔬果和水产养殖为主，所产的南洲萝卜籽有名。^[2] 村里设有潮艺社，2003年列入汕头市生态示范村。^[2]

泰国侨领蚁光炎和曾任全国侨联副主席、广东省侨联主席的蚁美厚，都是这个村的人。^[2]

南畔洲村在2020至2022年的淘宝村名单中均有名，2020年8月又入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（狮头鹅）。^[1]
