历史沿革[edit]
村名与河沟有关：樟林有一条从港口起、南北贯穿的河沟，西社正处在河沟的末端，俗称「河尾」，后来改用「美」字，雅称河美。[1][2] 西社原属饶平县苏湾都，嘉靖四十二年（1563年）改属澄海县。1932年称西社乡；1950年与新陇合编为仁荣乡；1974年仁荣拆开，定名河美。[3]
经济[edit]
据村情介绍，全村有1427户、5368人，土地1732亩，耕地1175亩（经济数字为2009年）。2009年秋，东方锆业科技股份有限公司（上市公司）在村内设厂；农业上发展林檎，在采后保鲜上有进展，工艺、服装、五金等行业也在扩大。[2]
河美村在2020年、2021年和2022年的淘宝村名单中均有名；2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局公布的2021年度乡村治理示范村创建名单里也有河美。[1]
