历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖年间（1522—1566年），溪南南砂乡的林姓人迁来创村。村后山势起伏如蛟龙，村前南溪水深似潭，故名龙潭。[1][2]
龙潭早先属饶平县的隆眼城都；新中国成立那年，它同西洋、石头坑编为下西乡，归澄海县隆都区管；1986年11月撤区置镇，才独立设村并转属东里镇。2004年12月与西洋村合并，2010年10月再分开。[2]
经济[edit]
村情介绍称，全村139户、616人，土地480亩，耕地68亩（经济数字为2011年）；以玉米、蔬果种植和水产养殖为主，东里镇内外河航运的船员多是该村村民。2019年9月，龙潭村列入2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位。[1]
