历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历是：刘氏先人在此挖土成窟、引水成塘养鸭，起先叫鸭窟，水塘渐宽，形如新月，得名月窟。开基时间，历史沿革页记为明嘉靖十三年（1534年），刘丕德从福建漳浦县棠山南下定居；概况页则写作清乾隆年间福建莆田的刘姓人家，二者并列。[1][2][3] 1950年与新兴街、塘西合为新光乡，1962年复名月窟，1998年9月设月窟村。[3]
经济[edit]
樟林港最盛时，北上的红头船一次多达80多艘，月窟村就有18艘。[2] 村情介绍称，全村527户、2023人，土地1098.90亩，耕地503.10亩（经济数字为2009年）；针织、工艺发展较快，农业以水稻、蔬菜为主，用绿豆、黄豆催芽的豆芽远销潮汕一带。[2] 月窟在2020至2022年的淘宝村名单中均有名，2021年9月入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（香蕉）。[1]
