历史沿革[edit]
沙洲前端形似狗舌的头部，故称狗舌尖；这一带的叶厝园也被说成像一条狗舌鱼（鲽鱼）。光绪三十三年（1907年），溪南南砂的村民来此建房，起名南砂新乡明德里，后称明德庄。[1][3] 1950年与石丁、大围、南畔洲、南砂合为新联乡，1961年起并入南洲生产大队，1971年9月再分出明德大队。1998年9月设明德村。[3]
头冲河在1970年前后逐渐淤塞，1975年在明德堤头与东里大桥头锁堤、开筑东福路，1976年全面回填，东陇以南原来靠渡口往来的情形就此结束。[2]
经济[edit]
村情介绍称，全村261户、1012人，土地1137.90亩，耕地456亩（经济数字为2007年），村民以林姓为主。村内有东发工业区。[2] 明德在2020至2022年的淘宝村名单中均有名。[1]
