竹园村是广东省广州市增城区仙村镇下辖的行政村，面积约2.3平方千米，由11个合作社组成，被称为革命老区村，以三月红荔枝著称。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村后原有大片竹林，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村史可上溯到南宋祥兴年间：阮梦祥从福建到南海，又从南海转来此处立村。解放初称竹园乡，1956年立竹园高级社，人民公社时期竹园、岗鼻头、新基三处合编为竹园大队，1983年改乡，1987年起设竹园村民委员会，村名未变。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

村民种植早熟荔枝和龙眼，三月红荔枝是本村的主要果品。村中还建有竹园公园和综合肉菜市场。2022年10月，广东省农业农村厅将竹园村认定为「2022年广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」，品种为三月红荔枝；抗日战争时期，村民曾组织抗日武装。[1]
