村委会位于当地一座小山岗的中部，故名冈中。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归登名都，民国时期属第九区沙冈乡，新中国成立后属七区冈中乡，1955年属水口区古洲南乡。1963年属水口公社，称冈中大队。1984年改称冈中乡人民政府，1989年称冈中管理区；1993年随沙冈区另置，2005年起归水口镇管辖，村级组织自1999年起称冈中村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，冈中村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
