地名由来[edit]
西福河绕村前流过，河中有一处深潭，潭水碧绿，村由此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
元朝至正年间，谢智迁居此处，后来分出上碧潭、下碧潭两处。1952年土改时村属宁北乡；1956年属五星高级社；1958年公社化，归仙村公社岳湖大队，至1976年才从中分出碧潭大队；1983年称碧潭乡，1987年起设碧潭村民委员会。[1]
环境与荣誉[edit]
村后保存有成片的后龙山林地，村里利用它建成生态旅游小公园。2021年11月获「2020年度“广州名村”」称号；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」，并获「2025年广州市充分就业社区（村）」认定。[1]
