地名由来[edit]
村位于沙洲岛的拐弯处，故称沙角。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期村属岭南乡。1956年立沙角高级社，1958年成沙角大队，隶仙村公社；1983年称沙角乡，1987年起设沙角村民委员会。[1]
文化与荣誉[edit]
村有龙舟传统：2006年的广东省第三届民族传统龙舟女子竞赛和2007年度新塘镇龙舟锦标赛，沙角村队都夺得冠军（据博雅地名网）。村内有一座历史三百多年的姚氏大宗祠，以及两座近百年的抗日碉楼。2021年12月获「广东省卫生村」称号，2025年6月获「2024年度广州市级美丽乡村」认定。[1]
