沿革[edit]
1982年国务院、中央军委决定调基建工程兵两万人到深圳转业；1983年深圳市政府将其中的十九团（00024部队）成了深圳市第三建筑工程公司，驻在竹子林，职工与家属在此住下，形成小区。2002年4月，竹园、竹林分设两个社区居委会。[2] 2022年3月，社区被深圳市住房和建设局认定为第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[2]
