竹园村是惠东县稔山镇下辖的行政村，以种植马铃薯闻名。相传村中民居门前多种山竹，从外面望去像一个圆形的园子，故名竹园。[1]
沿革与荣誉[edit]
1951年称竹园乡，1957年12月归稔山乡；1976年的竹园大队下辖竹园、竹背、石头岭三处；1983年并入五配乡。[1]
2011年8月，竹园村（项目为马铃薯）被农业部认定为「第一批全国一村一品示范村镇」；2019年9月，名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
