横坑村在行政区划上属从化区鳌头镇，是该镇的一个行政村，村委会设在镇域东部。[1] 全村面积约9平方公里，村民小组共18个，村委会介绍的总人口为2758人（该介绍未注明年份）。村距从化城区约10公里，距鳌头镇中心镇区约13公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，横坑大队设于1958年；1983年12月与西塘合为西横乡，1987年1月分设，称横坑村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2019年9月，横坑村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2021年11月，横坑村获评「2020年度“广州名村”」荣誉称号。[1]
  • 2021年12月，横坑村获「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号（广东省爱卫会）。[1]
  • 2026年1月，横坑村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」称号。[1]

村里的农业格局为：水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘里养四大家鱼、塘基上养瘦肉型猪。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

横坑村与西塘村、鹿田村组成西塘童话特色小镇，规划面积4.8平方千米，是广州市首批30个特色小镇之一，并列入第三批省级特色小镇培育库。[2]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的大围处士李公祠，共1处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[3]
