横坑村在惠东县白盆珠镇。村里有两条坑，汇合成一条主坑向外流出，所以叫横坑。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
横坑在民国二十年（1931）8月为惠阳县梁化第十区的横坑乡；1951年12月改属第二十二区（区府在双金），称横坑小乡。此后它经历管理委员会（1955年）、并入布心乡（1957年12月）、高级社（1958年）、大队（1962年）几个阶段，1963年2月入新庵公社，1983年复称乡。1987年3月，据惠东府函〔1987〕18号文设村委，1989年称管理区，1998年起称横坑村委会。[2]
经济与荣誉[edit]
横坑茶是该村的特色产品，2021年9月横坑村列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单；2019年9月又名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
