历史沿革[edit]

红光之名在1951年就有了。1966年9月，红光农业大队脱离金光农业大队，单独建制；1983年成为管理区。1987年3月起，据惠东府函〔1987〕17号文改设居委会；1993年曾称红光街道办事处，1996年9月街道办事处撤销，仍为居委会；2002年改称社区。[1]

社区荣誉[edit]

2022年9月，红光社区被评为「惠州市2022年度绿色社区」。[1]
