红光村是惠阳区平潭镇的一个行政村，旧称“仙洞”，名称几经更改，1960年后定名红光。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
该地在1949年前称仙洞；1955年至1957年改称新洞；1957年至1959年为红光高级社；1960年至1985年为红光大队；1985年后称红光管理区；1999年起为红光村民委员会。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传很早以前，与惠东梁化交界的山峰处有一个山洞，洞中的石头上有“仙人脚迹”，所以叫仙洞。新中国成立后曾改称新洞，1960年后为发扬红色革命传统改名红光。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，红光村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之中。[1]
