红光村是紫金县瓦溪镇的行政村，由原神光大队演变而来，2003年随九树镇并入瓦溪镇。[1]
地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网称，红光之名寓意红星璀璨、闪耀光辉。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
红光前身是神光大队，1958年属九和公社，1961年改隶九树公社，名称未变；1983年易名红光乡，之后为村委会（1987年）、管理区（1989年），1999年撤管理区、重设村委会。2003年九树镇撤销，红光随之归瓦溪镇。[1]
荣誉与建设[edit]
红光村在2024年3月获命名，成为2023年度广东省卫生村。[1] 红光也是瓦溪镇2023年重点建设的美丽宜居村之一。[2]
